We’re currently involved in a long term engagement with Registers of Scotland (RoS) who are a non-ministerial government department, responsible for compiling and maintaining 18 public registers relating to land and property. We’re providing consultancy and engineering services in support of their digital transformation program which aims to completely digitise the worlds first national public land register.
We have delivered and continue to operate an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering based on VMware’s vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestration (vRO) tools which support a catalogue based virtual machine provisioning solution for RoS’s private cloud. We have since extended this with Terraform, Jenkins and Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution based on RedHat Openshift Enterprise Platform.
We’re currently engaged in a re-platforming effort to move the Openshift PaaS solution to AWS compute and to support the creation of Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipelines using the AWS Serverless Framework.
In 2019 we carried out a collaborative engagement with the guys at The Butchers App. They’ve developed an e-commerce solution for butchers to help with order management and stock control and asked Claythorn Consultancy to carry out a review of their systems and processes.
Following a couple of on site meetings we proposed an action plan based on recommendations in the areas of:
– Business Continuity
– Cloud Security
– Cloud Consolidation
– Increased Agility
We then worked with their technical team over a period of 6 months to implement these recommendations using a combination of onsite meetings and remote engineering.
We carried out an 18 month engagement with Sky Broadcasting following their acquisition of the Sky Germany and Sky Italy brands. We provided engineering services to Sky’s Virtual Data Centre (VDC) Team across the VMWare stack.
During this period we carried out a significant platform upgrade to the vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestration (vRO) products, created automation for migration between storage arrays and vCenter Servers and delivered a number of catalogue items and workflows for the Private Cloud offering.
